Braised Green Beans (5)
Ingredients
- Green Beans
- White wine
- Half a red onion
- 4 Cloves of garlic
- 1 Red Pepper
- 1 Chillie
- 2 large tomatoes or 8 small tomatoes
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Finely dice the onion and garlic
- Fry for 10 minutes in olive oil
- Finely slice the red pepper and chillie, add to the pan
- Chop the tomatoes and add to the pan
- Sauté for another 5 minutes, until the tomato begins to break down.
- Lightly season the mixture
- Wash the green beans, chop off the ends
- Add the green beans to the pan, mix together so that they're coated in the mixture
- Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer
- Cover and cook for 30-45 minutes
- Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice before serving
