Braised Green Beans (5)


  • Green Beans
  • White wine
  • Half a red onion
  • 4 Cloves of garlic
  • 1 Red Pepper
  • 1 Chillie
  • 2 large tomatoes or 8 small tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Finely dice the onion and garlic
  2. Fry for 10 minutes in olive oil
  3. Finely slice the red pepper and chillie, add to the pan
  4. Chop the tomatoes and add to the pan
  5. Sauté for another 5 minutes, until the tomato begins to break down.
  6. Lightly season the mixture
  7. Wash the green beans, chop off the ends
  8. Add the green beans to the pan, mix together so that they're coated in the mixture
  9. Pour in the white wine and bring to a simmer
  10. Cover and cook for 30-45 minutes
  11. Season with salt, pepper, lemon juice before serving
